It's hard to believe the pressed flower cards made by It's Lucy Speaking are actual flowers! They hold their colour so well and are easily identifiable. It always takes me a long time to choose which ones to stock in the shop - I'm thankful when lovely Lucy chooses for me!
Lucy is clearly creative, her pressed flowers are such a delight and the cards would be lovely framed.

What led you into creating?
Creative at heart, I started making cards when I was nine years old to earn some pocket money. I'm now twenty two and have been making cards ever since, with the original designs still part of the collection! I've completed my degree in visual communication design and work as a graphic designer for Studio Acht, content creator and social media marketer (all the fun stuff!)
Describe your studio/creative space:
My studio is my dining table and kitchen bench (haha!) — it does the job and means I can create with my family in close company. I'm often sprawled out across every possible surface for a weekend while I get my stock levels up, then it all gets packed away until I have time again.
Your favourite piece:
I love the pressed flower cards, they're an ode to the gardens the flowers come from. There's something special about receiving a handmade card with a handwritten note. I've had a pen pal for as long as I can remember so that's certainly contributed to my fascination with the handwritten word. So many warm fuzzies!
A favourite place in NZ:
Little Kaiteriteri Beach! I've been holidaying there since I was a little girl and it's the one place I can fully relax.
A memorable meal:
Eating peanut butter by the spoonful will always remind me of home.
